The Cross-Match Mixup
Just a couple days after we’d spent all day in Miami for my big workup, we got a phone call.
Of course we were expecting some type of results or word from the doctors, but instead, they were letting us know we needed to repeat our blood work! Somehow in the process of doing our cross-match, I believe a vial got misplaced, or not enough were taken? I’m not quite sure, but either way we needed to head back down so that they could continue the testing process.
There went Friday.
But I had to calmly remind myself, and I want to remind you too, that mistakes happen. Everyone has a job to do, and none of us are perfect. I don’t want to wonder who’s “fault” it was. These people are doing the work of angels, and we need to give some grace!
I can’t say I wasn’t frustrated, but I had to talk myself into a place of understanding. It would be okay. We were still in the same place on our path that we were meant to be.
We recovered, with coffees in hand, and took a sightseeing drive through downtown Miami. On the way back north in the everglades, we caught some beautiful storms and enjoyed spending time together!
